Hello also posted of Primary Education but wondering if any local Mums here might be able to help?

Anyone any recent experience of the junior school? Thinking of moving DC (Y2) but it's a huge decision for us and would love some input from those with experience. We've been for look rounds and the kids liked the look/feel of it as did we.

Main questions are do they get loads of homework, how much PE do they do and what is drop off pick up like (we'll have to drive I think)? What is it like being at such a small school?

Also are there any extra- curricular activities available for Y3s clubs etc. Looking for somewhere that feels caring and is a bit more fun than DCs current very strict un-fun state primary. Do feel free to PM me if you'd rather. Thanks.

Hi Mother of pirates

My daughter joined BC at year 5 and is now in year 9, so we have experienced both Primary and secondary there. We have found the school ethos to be very encouraging. They do have homework, but this tapers up as years progress. Certainly not tonnes for year 2.
School pick up - DD has taken herself for a while but when we did drive it was as much of a pain as anywhere else. Most folk park in side roads - so usual regular newsletters about considerate parking. The best thing we have found about the school is how well the teachers know the pupils and bring out the best in them. PE is regular and they make use of many local facilites such as Norman park and HSBC sports grounds. They have national champions in Fencing.
Extra curricular activities every day, including a free breakfast and after schools club.
Can you tell we like it :-)
