advice on secondary school

Hi....I'm new on this site.....needed an opinion. ....dd starting high school in September. ...live towards Caversham area.....has a confirmed place at the new Maiden Erlegh Reading.....was on waiting list with highdown .....what option would be better. ...please any advice would be appreciated. ....she would be able to go walking to HD but ME is a outstanding school....not sure what to do....

I assume this is too late now, but have you looked round both?

I wouldn't send a child to school at ME from Caversham, there's a lot to be said for having local friends. I don't think HD is a bad school at all?
