Breastfeeding in public

Can anyone please recommend places to go in the Brighton area that are breastfeeding friendly? I have a 4 week old baby girl & need to build my confidence with breastfeeding in public.

Anywhere and everywhere! It's B-right-on. No one cares

I've breastfed all over Brighton. Jubilee library (children's area), the Dome cafe, Modelo lounge, churchill square (private room), mothercare & boots (also semi private rooms), cafe upstairs in churchill square, temptation cafe, on a bench on the seafront...

The cafes/restaurants in the town centre are always crammed with people but the places mentioned above are bigger and you can be more discrete.

The children's area of the library is great, with comfyish sofas and lots of babies around. I used to go to Pret near the Clock Tower as they don't mind how long you are there. Starbucks also pretty good.

As others have said no one will bat an eyelid in Brighton! I was nervous at first but then I suddenly noticed women breastfeeding everywhere I went and I got a lot more confident. If you want to meet other breastfeeding mums come and see us at Brighton breastfeed drop in on Tuesdays 10.30 - 12.30 at Hanover community centre on southover street. We have trained peer supporters for information and support but you don't need to be having issues to come and see us, you're very welcome to just pop in for a cup of tea and a chat.

This is so wonderful to hear! It's a horrible argument in the US with people comparing breastfeeding mother to using the potty in public or pornography.
