Hi ladies, sorry I am very new to this... I have to choose what hospital to have my little one at. I'm torn between st heliers and east surrey, has anyone got any thoughts on this? thanks in advance, its all quite daunting as I'm classed as high risk due to my hormone imbalance, lining issues and small uterus. Any help would be great x

Hello Tally. I don't know St Heliers and East Surrey but if you are Croydon based is there any reason why you are not choosing Croydon University Hospital (previously Mayday)? I had my children there and had a mostly good experience there.

I'm going to hazard a guess that you've heard less than complimentary things about CUH. I remember my HypnoBirthing teacher (Helen Redfern) saying words to the effect that a lot of hospitals have a bad reputation in their immediate vicinity as people tend to talk about negative experiences far more than their positive ones e.g. I'm more likely to tell you about bad customer service in a shop than to mention that the assistant smiled and was polite etc.

Hopefully some people who are based closer to St Helier or East Surrey can come along with positive stories about these hospitals.

Good luck.
