Hopefully this won't get deleted because i also posted on the lewisham local site. But, I know lots of people are struggling to find great nurseries and private ones aren't always that good and usually small. So I just wanted to share my great experience at Rachel McMillan nursery school. It's a children's centre and nursery school located just over creek bridge in greenwich. (se8 - deptford post code though). I took my little boy to the lovely toddler drop in for the first time after my friends kept recommending it.
I walked in and it was huge and like entering a secret garden! Amazing things to do and the children looked so happy and busy I saw some making mud pies in a mud kitchen!! Whilst I was there I mentioned to a lady who worked there whether I could put my son down on the waiting list for when he is 3 (he's 2), she told me there wasn't one and unfortunately lots of places are left to fill. I was shocked, I think it's because it's tucked away.
Anyway just wanted to share incase people haven't heard of it (like me until my friends told me). They are an ofsted registered outstanding nursery and don't have a small catchment like most nurseries. I was also told that it is 100 years old and one of the first nursery schools in England which is pretty cool
