Areas to Avoid in West Sussex

My husband has just started a new job in Storrington and we'll be moving to join him once he's passed his probationary period, we've sold our house etc. I don't know the area at all and would like to narrow down our house search area. We'd like to live within 30 min commute from his work, somewhere within walking distance of shopps and with public transport links.

I have 2 boys aged 2 and 3.5 and don't want to be isolated in an area where it's difficult to meet other people. So where would you suggest/avoid? TIA

Hi,
We live in Upper Beeding which is very nice and a 20 minute drive to Storrington. It has a lovely community feel, and we were made very welcome when we moved here 4 years ago. I have made some lovely friends :) Steyning is next door and also very nice.
Good luck with your search :)

Thanks BecciT2004. My husband is staying in Steyning and likes it but we want to find other areas as there don't seem to be many houses in our price range for sale there.

Bramber just down the road from Steyning has some slightly cheaper houses than Steyning itself and is very pretty. The primary and secondary schools are really great in that area, including Ashurst (which has an amazing pub). Henfield is also lovely as well. Findon is a pretty village and within half an hour from storrington, nice school - nice houses.
