Primary school places - how did admissions day go for you?

Primary school offer letters came out today. According to the statistics County Durham schools are under subscribed, where other areas in the North East (and beyond) have more children than places. It was my first experience of this with my four year old DS, but it was straightforward for us as we just applied to the one school. I moved recently from an over subscribed area and I think my experience might have been very different if I still lived there. Did you get a place in the school that you wanted? If you didn't, will you appeal?

I was fortunate enough to receive the first choice school placement for my daughter. For any parents who were not successful, there is an appeal process and I wish them luck. The effectiveness of this process can vary greatly from area to area and school to school. If you are affected by this and would like some legal advice on appealing an admission decision, please get in touch with my colleague, Chris Noon at NE Law LLP 0191 3744048.

Thanks Michelle - that could be useful for people. We have a legal services section on the site if you would like to add your company's full details. local.mumsnet.com/durham/legal-services
