Recently moved back to Brighton (Fiveways) after fifteen years, and wondering if anyone else out there is looking after a coeliac toddler and wants to connect?
DD is 2.5, was diagnosed last summer after four months of horror, and is now happy healthy little girl. We are managing the gluten free diet well at home, but I find going out stressful. Especially the idea of going to groups to meet other mums - toddlers running around smeared in biscuit crumbs and me having to explain why it makes me come out in the sweats to people I don't know.
Nursery are AMAZING, and she is there three mornings a week (rising to five in September) but I'm worried I'm holding her back from the company of other kids at a time when that's more and more important to her. Was intrepid, laid-back mummy before all the sick started and would love to find that place again.
Anyway, since it's picnic weather, if anyone is out there and fancies meeting up to let little ones run free with their pom bears, or just swapping tips online about good places to eat out in town with a coeliac toddler, get in touch...
