Flora Stevenson

Does anyone have experience of Flora Stevenson primary? We're looking at a house in the catchment but I have no idea about the school. I vaguely remember reading good things about it here a couple of years ago but the last inspection report I've been able to find is from 2005, and it's only ranked 45th in the school guide list (yes I know rankings are an inexact science but I have little else to go on).

The other houses we are considering are in the catchments of Blackhall and Davidsons Mains, so it'd be interesting to hear if anyone has experience of more than one to compare.

Flora Stevenson does have a good reputation but along with that comes the fact that it is usually full to capacity.

I understand they re currently building in their already very limited playground to get round capacity issues they are facing. tBH it would be the secondary school catchment I would be more concerned with ....

Agree with above re: secondary catchment - Broughton high isn't the best school.

Davidsons Mains & Blackhall (plus Cramond) go to Royal high at secondary level.

I would also consider childcare in these areas eg do you need nursery care, pre-schooler care, before-after school or holiday club? We chose Cramond as we needed all of the above.
