Childminder

Hi, I am moving to Oxford from London Mid May and I am looking for a part time childminder to care for my 3 and a half year old daughter from this time and then provide care before and after her nursery place from September. I am really struggling to find anywhere...I thought that London was tricky to find places but it does not seem to have anything on Oxford. Could anyone offer any advise on finding someone or if you know of a childminder in central Oxford...anything would be appreciated!

Have you tried the Oxfordshire Family Information Service? I believe that is usually the first port of call as it should include all registered CMs in the area. fisd-disability.oxfordshire.gov.uk/kb5/oxfordshire/fsd/home.page

I don't know if it still works the same way (I last looked for a CM 15 years ago!) but I believe there are CMs who act as coordinators for each area. They aim to keep themselves informed of who has vacancies, specialist skills etc.

Thanks for that website. I have had I look and lots available but none seem to do pick up at the nursery my daughter has a place at.
Does anyone have any experience of Nannies/nanny shares? I saw a previous note about contacting Oxford Brookes...has anyone successfully found a student through that route?
