Hi. We're looking at buying a house in one of the new developements in either East Calder or Winchburgh. Can anyone recommend which would be a better area? I'm from the Borders originally so don't know the area too well. Thanks. ??

Hi

We are moving from Aberdeen to Winchburgh in September with our 6 month old daughter please can people who live here advise if there are plenty of baby activities and what the local area is like?

Thanks

Would probably prefer east Calder to winchburgh. If your budget allows it, houses in Kirkliston are fab. Amazingly friendly area and lovely primary. Might be worth looking at schooling needs. Winchburgh needs to build a new high school. Wouldn't want to commute to edinburgh from winchburgh. You are a short drive in both places from lots of child friendly amenities and days out. Not sure about groups within the places themselves though. Hopefully someone more local will be along to help Wink

DH who is West Lothian born and bred says East Calder without a doubt. I don't know why though- will try to get more out of him later. Grin

Ooops, just realised the OP was from back in April and there was a new tag on question. Blush Sorry!

Hi. We're looking at buying a house in one of the new developements in either Livingston or East Calder or Winchburgh. Can anyone recommend which would be a better for kids schooling and better area ? I'm from Grampian so not exactly sure which is better. Thanks.
