Caterer recommendation

Has anyone used a caterer recently - it is for a party at a house - not huge in August - I come in the fussy but tight budget category :-)

I have ordered Saisnbury's party platters a few times times, the food was delicious and the platters quite large. People love the fruit platters for dessert. You have to order a week in advance.

For 40 people I have spent around £100 in platters, and bought some more stuff separately (pizzas, salami, dips, cheese, baguette, tomatoes and cucumber etc.). I do the shopping late afternoon for an evening party and pick up the platters at the same time (they have a huge fridge while mine is tiny), and all goes straight on the table.
Usually guests bring a bottle and I buy soft drinks.

Waitrose have a similar service (not sure in Cambridge, though)

Alternatively, I heard that "Tradizioni Pizza & Pasta "on Mill Road do a catering service and it's quite good but I am not sure what their menu is.
