Has anyone else noticed that Wallington County Grammar School are doing away with their second stage entrance test? Just got this from their website:
"The Governors of Wallington County Grammar School have made a decision not to run the WCGS second stage Entrance Examination as the school wishes to reduce the amount of testing that young people who are considering a place at a grammar school have to sit. We are confident that the Selective Eligibility Test (SET) provides us with an accurate measure of boys who are of selective ability."
Thank goodness - I think a first stage test will be enough for a lot of kids - glad to see that one of the best grammar schools in the country is actually thinking about the welfare of 11 year olds. They are also running practice tests which I am thinking about signing my son up for.
