Places to live near Darlington? Help!

Hi, my DH has been offered a job in Darlington and we're looking to relocate. We currently live in a village in Cumbria so would love to find another village within commuting distance, or somewhere just out of the town centre. We have a 5 month old DD and I'm pregnant with our second so I was wondering what kind of things were on for babies around here too? Thanks!

Hurworth, Croft-on-Tees, North Cowton/East Cowton, Scorton, Barton, Melsonby, Middleton Tyas, Cleasby, Manfield, Aldbrough St John all nice south, south west(ish) village communities bordering Darlington. Knowledge not great on what's north of town.

Commuting to Darlington is quite painless. 10/15 mins max? Even from Richmond its about 20/25 mins.

Between the sure start centres, NCT, swimming,softplay centres, groups like musicbugs or rhymetime at the library, you could probably fill every day.

If you are on facebook, search and join the "yummy mummies darlington" group. Mummies are very helpful with 'what to do?' suggestions.
