Is there any discussion/reporting/thread about what is due to be approved by the council (tonight) at Fox Primary School, Kensington Place, London?

It involves lead and asbestos:

and

and

“Children are especially prone to the health effects of lead and, as a result, blood lead levels must be set lower and closely monitored if contamination is possible.”

Please let me know – if there isn’t anything on mumsnet, there should: and if there is, please point me to it.

Very, very confused....

I live locally and the council have been determined to push the expansion of the school. In order to do so they have to cut down several large trees, which would be against their own rules. They have found very small amounts of asbestos and are using this as an excuse to clear the area with the trees, against fierce opposition from local residents.
There is almost certainly a way that the interests of the parents, children and residents could all be accommodated with clever design and planning - but the council couldn't be bothered to even try.
