Help - can you suggest cheap activities for 3-8 year olds

Hi,
I've got family coming to stay in the holiday, so with my kids and the nieces/nephews we are a right mixed bag of ages and interests. I don't want to splash out on expensive attractions, so am looking for ideas that might keep them all entertained for a few hours a day, without breaking the bank.

All ideas will be gratefully received

My hands down recommendation is the LookOut in Hyde Park, and it's perfect for 3-8 year olds. Here's a link:

Their Discovery days are free and you can easily spend 3-4 hours there. You are also welcome to bring a packed lunch as they have picnic tables.

There is always lots to do, arts and crafts indoors and and outdoor activities such as pond dipping, nature trails etc.

Definitely a good idea on a sunny day.

Head to Golders Hill Park (top left of Hampstead Heath). They have a free zoo, butterfly house, play area, cafe...

I was reminded of it in the MNCamden newsletter this month. local.mumsnet.com/camden/parks-playgrounds/168583-golders-hill-park-zoo-butterfly-house

Have you been to Granary Sq yet? It's a great place to hang out on a hot day. But to keep the cost down, pack a picnic.

Plus, they've just opened a swimming pond and have loads of family events.

The Museum of London is great - and free. They also have some music/play sessions for kids and good school holiday activities.
Here is a listing with a review, local.mumsnet.com/westminster-and-city/museums/154624-museum-of-london
