Moving from South Croydon to Stoneleigh

Hi All,

We are thinking of moving from South Croydon to Stoneleigh, so that we have better amenities.

I wanted to know if anyone else has done this?

Also I wanted to find out about the following in this area;

• Traffic in the area, we are looking at Amberley gardens, Seaworthy and Walsingham Roads
• Schools
• Babysitting & Nannies, etc, are there many in our area, we hard that often babysitters would prefer to babysit children in Epsom, and cheam rather than Stoneleigh is this true?
• Local amenities
• Local mums clubs and etc. - is it easy to make friends?
• Crime in the area
• Green space
• Local markets and people.
• what's it like been a mom is this area? Is there a community feel?

Is this area better than south Croydon, we are trying to get away from Croydon, and have a better lifestyle?

Any suggestions tips, watch outs. Places to avoid, things to take into consideration?

Stoneleigh is a lovely place compared to South Croydon (had both family and friends there)!

It's cheaper to buy there than in Epsom, but not too far away to easily visit the market/ shops in Epsom by public transport or car. It has some lovely roads and is a decent area. I don't know about crime, but I know Surrey Police have some figures on their site.

Babysitters etc, I live in Epsom and to be honest, I don't see Stoneleigh as a ghetto I'm too afraid to enter, lol :D You won't have a problem finding local mums groups, there are a few soft plays nearby, good transport links, I think you'll find it a very pleasant change from South Croydon!
