What's required in terms of time commitment and talent swaying?

Time commitment is a 90 min rehearsal one weeknight in Manchester term time (you can drop them off up to 30 mins early but they need to be collected promptly), 3 scheduled concert weekends plus maybe 1/2 extra Saturdays before them. Occasional other performances as requested. The children are school years 4-8 and there is an audition. You sing a folk song or hymn and do aural tests (I've only learnt that is what they are called since!). Singing back strings of notes, clapping along and singing the high and low note separately from a chord plus a very quick chat. If you play an instrument they ask a bit more I think.

Should have said that there's a concert on Sunday 29 th at the Bridgewater hall which isn't too pricy to see if your dc would like to apply. I haven't checked but I think it includes the older choirs and the youth orchestra who are all amazing. I was blown away last year.

Yes, March 29th concert is all the youth ensembles, Children's Choir, Youth Choir, Youth Training Choir, Youth Orchestra.
DS does both HYO and HYC and loves them
