Wincanton

We are seriously looking to buy a house in Wincanton, but we don't know the area at all (apart from a couple of visits).

Can anyone give honest insight as to the community there? We've noticed a few shops that have closed and the farmers' market is no longer. Is there a reason for this?

Are there good community groups? Is it easy to meet people?

How are the primary schools?

Hi, I'm in Wincanton. Its a lovely friendly town. Great community. Don't be put off by the closed shops, we are trying to get them filled. We have various community groups going on. There's the Town Team, CATCH, I'm part of the group to bring back Wincanton Carnival.
The schools are great, there's the primary and also a catholic school. Various nurseries and pre schools. Mum and baby groups.
I love the fact that when you are out walking people say hello.
