Where to live - Hampstead, Kew or Chiswick?

We are Americans moving to London this summer. Our 6 year old (only) son will be attending the ACS Hillingdon International School and we are looking for the right place to live in the London area. We are looking for a place with a village feel, some green space nearby, and with good access to public transportation (my husband works close to Paddington). The school has a door to door busing service for our son but we do not want his commute to be too long. We have looked into prices and we are now trying to decide on one of the following - Hampstead, Kew or Chiswick. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hampstead is by far the best area to live. Hampstead has that real village feel, plenty of green space with Hampstead Heath, Primose Hill etc.

But if he's going to school in Hillingdon, one of the other places would be better. I have lived in all three, though not Kew or Chiswick for a long time. If Kew, make sure you are near the tube station, although the Green and river are nice, they are not as convenient. Chiswick is quite big with a number of stations. Go for the areas near to Turnham Green tube station or Chiswick Park station. You don't want to find yourself "in Chiswick" but actually nearer to the M4 or Acton. Hampstead IS nicer but may not be right for you. Hth
