Family relocation - advice

Hello! Norwegian mum relocating to Dundee for a year from August, bringing husband and no less than 4 children, aged 16,14,6,3.

Looking for advice where NOT to live and why - as it can be hard to tell only from streetview. We are thinking of anywhere in 30 min commuting distance.

Of course I love to hear where you love to live and why!

Is there anywhere that you think would be excellent for all ages - my family tend to have problems agreeing on anything due to big difference in age and interests. The teeangers are into either ballet (16yrs) or football (14 yrs) so we want to have facilities nearby for both. And a safe area for them outside the house.

Any other recommendations for our family?

I am going for a short trip over in March - what should I see in the surroundings? Will rent a car and try not to kill myself driving on the left side ;-)

Hello, have you been over to visit yet?

I would recommend visiting Broughty Ferry, the west end/perth road area or Maryfield areas, they are all different. Broughty Ferry is the perceived posh area but has everything you need, from school, shops and leisure facilities. If your budget can reach the prices, look at the other areas.

Dundee is a really small city so everything is accessible quite quickly.

If you have specific questions just shout.

Hi, and a welcome in advance!

Sorry, I keep forgetting to check in here! Have you been and gone already?
