Hello Ladies!

My name is Emma Burckhardt and I am the new ambassador for the Harrogate/Knaresborough area. (be kind - I'm new to all this! Blush )

I have organised our first meet to be at Kidzplay (on Beech Avenue) on March 19th at 10am. Kidzplay have kindly said they will reserve an area for us on the sofas and we will receive certain discounts (tea, coffee, cake...etc) for this event.

It would be lovely to meet you all, especially those who are new to the area and don't really know anyone with children. We mummies need to stick together! Grin

It will be coming up on our local meet page soon - my name just needs to be changed from the 'thenewmrsb' to AmbassadorEmma. please feel free to message me or join the meet group.

If you can't make this event don't worry - I have plenty more in mind! Including a mums and bumps evening and some lovely summer events.... and for those of you, who like me, have two crazy toddlers, something wine related! Wink

Hope to meet you all soon,

Emma Grin

Hi Emma

How do I join this group?

I live in Green Hammerton, so fully understand if this is limited to Knaresborough/Harrogate Mum's. I have a very very active two year old and i'm trying to find some groups suitable for him to join and for us both to make some friends.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Susan

Hi ChocCakeLass
Michelle, your local Editor here.
I'm sure Emma will welcome you along to the Harrogate/Knaresborough meet-ups if you want to go but did you know that we are also looking for people to organise similar meet-ups in other locations across North Yorkshire? Why not check out the list on the "Meet-Up" tab? If your area is listed and doesn't have "active" written against it (which is fairly likely) then by all means volunteer to be Emma's equivalent for your area. You will organise meet-ups but may also be passed opportunities to sample offers and freebies from businesses in your area in return for writing a review. Do let me know if you fancy setting up a group in one of the areas listed or if you want to learn more about it.
thanks
Michelle

Hi if theres anymore meet ups id love to join, i live near northallerton :) Also im new to this and cant find a lot of people from my area, im unsure how to search for local chats :) TIA

LocalEditorNorthYorks · 26/03/2015 10:11

Hi Steph
Thanks for getting in touch. Would you like to be the Mumsnet Meet-Up volunteer (previously called Ambassador) for Northallerton? If you fancy giving it a go I can give you some support to help set it up. You would just need to think of a place for an initial meet up (Emma chose a soft play centre and managed to agree a discount). I would then advertise it in our newsletter and you would put details up on the site. It might start off small but these things then tend to snowball and before you know it you might have a small army of mummies to have regular meet-ups with! Let me know if you would like to give it a go :)

Hi Michelle
Thank you for your reply regarding joining the Harrogate and Knaresborough Meet-up group. I have had a look at the list of group, unfortunately I don't really fit under any of them (Harrogate and Knaresborough would be the nearest or Boroughbridge. Like most groups I live in an area that isn't covered by a group, all the groups seem to miss the local villages between York/Wetherby/K'boro-Hgt/Boroughbridge.
As a stay at home mum with a toddler (a very very VERY active toddler) it is getting increasingly harder to find groups suitable for him and to meet other mums who are looking to make friends. I would be interest in hearing more about what a local ambassador entails?

katrinerosa · 01/06/2015 10:55

I am also a stay at home mum moving to Harrogate this summer with my husband an 3 children, the youngest is two.
I would like to hear about other meetings ;-)
