hi, just wondering if anyone knows of any good tips on kitchen manufacturer? we are planning to replace the old kitchen in our new house and we have a budget of £15k (this includes appliances). I've had a look around and was told to avoid Wren Kitchen?? Heard howden is very expensive so as Magnet? Preferrably, i would like to have painted wooden kitchen cupboards with granite worktop. I like the look of farmhouse or traditional kitchen. Can anyone suggest a kitchen builder? x

Hi - I had a new kitchen fitted two years ago and used Norwoods.

They were very good, able to make cupboards to custom sizes, and provided one person to oversee the whole process. They aren't cheap but my kitchen is very small so affordable for us.

I found Magnet very sales-y when we popped in for a look. Expensive and then magically managed to knock 25% off the cost when we didn't sign within a week. Not the kind of business I want to work with.

I've heard good things about Howdens and Ikea though. The best advice I've read (I think, while researching our own kitchen replacement) is to find a good fitter and go with their recommendation.

In particular you can save with Ikea kitchens because you can build the flat pack carcasses yourself while watching tv.
