Nurseries in Twickenham/Whitton

Anyone with any nursery feedback in the Twickenham/Whitton area. What seemed like the distant return to work gets closer and closer and I've yet to tackle the nursery dilemma. I don't know anyone locally who has children already in nursery and just trying to gather a few firsthand tips to aid me in drawing up a list of places to look at. Any help much appreciated.

Hi there,

I placed a very similar post recently, but sadly didn't get any feedback, so I hope my thoughts help.

My DH and I recently visited two nurseries in the area: Teddies Twickenham West and Tic Toc. Both nurseries were greats and worth going to see though, for us, Teddies had the slight edge.

At Teddies, we were given an opportunity to meet many of the staff and to see how the various year groups interacted throughout the nursery, which gave us a strong insight into the nursery as a whole. The children were highly engaged across all year groups, with most staff members long term (and clearly loved by the children) and really knowledgeable about their age groups. Interaction in the babies section, which is what we were interested in, was strong, with some unique activities, great facilities and structure, and high levels of health and safety. They had some really clever and creative ways of teaching children about cleanliness etc, and gave us lots of helpful information to take away with us to help us with what to look for when making a decision about a nursery.

Tic Toc was also lovely and full of very happy children. The facilities were great and the staff lovely. However we didn't get the chance to look around the whole nursery and I felt that they missed out showing us some key selling points. We didn't get to meet and speak to the staff who would be looking after our baby on a day-to-day basis, and the baby's section seemed a little too quiet (my DH really liked this, but I'd rather my DS comes home worn out from all the fun each day!).

Anyway, I hope some of this helps and would definitely advocate a visit to both nurseries if they're in the right area for you.

Thanks so much, appreciate the insight, they are both on my sketchy list of places to check out.

Dd at bright beginnings for a year and she adores it! I worried about lack of outdoor space. But not been a problem. I saw a few in the hunt and have friends who made other choices I could comment on their experience if you were looking at a nursery in particular.
