Colchester secondary schools

I would like to hear opinions on secondary schools in Colchester. I have a year 5 who I do not want to go to our nearest secondary school. We curently have problems with his primary school, 4 children have been taken out of his class since xmas, so I am prepared to move primary in order to get into a feeder primary for a secondary school of choice.
He is good at maths, science and music.
I am particularly looking at Stanway, St Bens, Philip Morant and The Gilberd as they would be easiest bus wise!

To get into St Ben's you will need to be Catholic unless the numbers applying have changed considerably.
Philip Morant puts quite a premium on house prices but has had some issues recently. If you'd like more specific info on the schools DM me but don't want to out myself!

I'm looking at Stanway or philip morant too. Dc are at gosbecks which is a brilliant school. We've heard philip morant has a bullying issue is that right?
