nursery...preschool

Hi mums (and dads),
We're just getting to the point where we really need nursery for our DD, but soon she will be eligible for the free preschool at 3 years. (she's 2 1/2).

We're new here and fairly confused about the way everything works in Scotland. So many questions...!

First - any recommendations on nice nurseries in Marchmont or the university area where we can send our DD now and continue on sending her for preschool? (also interested in Newington or Bruntsfield).

We are fairly flexible in our hours, but need a place that is open until 5 or so because I have to make sure I can fit in overseas work meetings with my company around 3 or 4pm.

Any insight would be much appreciated!

oh I forgot to add, we only need about 20 hours/week, I'd prefer it's 2 half days, one full day, but 4 half days can work. Not all nurseries have hours that suit this kind of schedule.
