Anyone looking for new friends?

Hi, I'm looking to make new friends in my area as my 3 children are all in their 20's and away at uni and after bringing them up I've realised I've not kept up with friendships - people have moved away etc So feeling very lonely and looking to find groups/ideas to make new female friends and/or couples to socialise with my husband too. It's very difficult as people already have friendship groups and families nearby and we have neither. So anyone out there who is interested in getting in touch, please do!

Hi Poppies

Just wondering where exactly in North Yorkshire you are.

I'm in Stockton-on-Tees.

Both my dds are in their 20's. Eldest lives way down south and the youngest is just in the process of moving into her own place...just around the corner.

It seams that my life has been all about my family over the last good few years...don't have many RL friends. Not any to socialise with.

Hopefully you're not too far away...Smile

Hi cazakstan

Thanks for your reply - I'm in Harrogate which is about an hour from you - not too far Smile

Morning Poppies.

Even though Harrogate isn't too far away I haven't been for years.
I only ever make it as far as York every few weeks.

Just wondering if you have any hobbies to keep you busy...or interests to get you out and about.
It's not as easy as maybe 30 years ago making friends.
I can go for days talking to no one other than my dp and dd's...I'd love just to have a pointless conversation in RL with someone else.
I have all good intentions of getting out there and getting a life for myself...I always find an excuse to stay put.

My youngest dd is moving into a cottage around the corner this coming weekend...am looking forward to some peace and quiet at home and also less mess...think I'll miss all the mess and company very soon though.

Do your Dc's come home often ??? If they're anything like mine it's been one in one out for years...and not much time to myself. Wink

Good morning!

You are right it was much easier 30 years ago!

Yes, I have interests and starting to do more but I suppose although you get to meet people at these things it usually just remains they are acquaintances.

My children are at uni so are in and out like yours. Enjoy having your daughter just around the corner that will be nice.

Have a nice day.
