Commute from Brookwood to Waterloo

Hi

Me and my DH are planning on moving from Berkshire to Surrey.
We like the look of Brookwood but worried about the commute. What is the commute like to Waterloo is like, do you usually get a seat or are the trains packed?

Advice would be helpful :) Thanks

We have shared your post on Twitter (@MumsnetSurrey) so you'll hopefully see feedback shortly.

The Trainline responded straight away :-)

Hello!

Commutes from Brookwood are relatively simple. All trains in the morning run to Waterloo direct, taking about 35 minutes. They normally call at Woking and Waterloo, but a couple are stopping services very early in the morning.

You can find a seat towards the back of many trains, as they're normally 12 coaches, but in the high peak (arriving 0800-0830 at Waterloo) you may be expected to stand. If you're able to be a bit flexible and get in a bit earlier then there's far more chance of sitting!

Going home again, there are a number of trains that run fast, making Brookwood the first stop. They're a mixture of 8 and 12 coach trains, but seating once again can be a struggle in the high peak (1700-1800 from Waterloo), but if you're early then you'll normally be able to muscle a businessman or two out of the way!
