Could you be a Home-Start Volunteer?

We have been approached by a wonderful local charity on the lookout for volunteers. This is what they said:

"Home-Start Suffolk Coastal is a charity which provides support to families in the Suffolk Coastal and East Ipswich area. Over the past year we have supported over 140 families for many different reasons including families where there is illness or disability, families experiencing mental health issues or feeling isolated and families who have twins or triplets.
Do you have spare 2-3hrs a week to support a family? We are looking for people who are parents themselves or have parenting experience. Before visiting a family, volunteers attend a preparation course to look at their own experiences and cover subjects such as child protection and local facilities for young families. They are then matched one to one with a family to offer whatever help is needed, a confidential listening ear, an extra pair of hands and eyes, time to spend with the children or support through a difficult time. All volunteers will have an enhanced DBS check.
We offer a variety of preparation courses including an evening course. The courses are run term time only. Training is held at our office in Martlesham Heath.
If live in the Suffolk Coastal or East Ipswich area and would like to find out more please contact Home-Start Suffolk Coastal on 01473 621104 or visit www.homestarteastsuffolk.org.uk or email [email protected]
Thank You"

I would love to do this and have, indeed, enquired before. However, I have no personal transport and could not get to the Training Sessions
