Can anyone recommend me where to go for posterior tongue- tie release.
I found several practitioners on the internet but would be very grateful for personal experiences.

Can't remember what kind of tongue-tie it was, but we went with Allison Ryder about 20 months ago:

She is a very nice person, very professional and kind. DS did eventually latch on over the next week or two albeit only with silicone nipple shields, hard to say whether getting the tongue-tie snipped made the difference. It was a bit more of a cut (involved more tissue) than I'd expected but I think that was my fault for not being better informed, asking questions etc, and it was nothing to do the way Allison did it, but rather the anatomy of the bit they snip that I hadn't really appreciated. Good luck with it all.

You could get a referral from GP to dr Simpson I think it is, in a neighbouring hospital. I think it's about an hour away.

Call up the feeding specialist at Rosie, I can't remember her name, but she was supportive of posterior tongue tie.

Yup!

Ann Dobson did my son's posterior tie when he was 2 weeks old. Came up from London on a bank holiday Monday with 2 days notice and was great. Obviously private, so we paid for it, but worth every penny at that time!

Ps I was in agony the first two weeks and my son had terrible wind and was so uncomfortable due to poor latch. Having the tie released made a huge difference and we b/f to 16m in the end.

Thanks a lot for your replies. They are very useful. I am trying at the moment to get a referral for Bedford.

Another Ann Dobson recommendation here.

Private midwife in hitchin does it for around £100. I had two done by dr Simpson at Bedford and third in hitchin. V quick and makes breast feeding much better. Good luck.
