In case you’re not already aware, there’s a proposal to build a 10,000-20,000 seat football stadium with 600 new homes on Plough Lane, just off Garratt Lane. Please go to the Merton Planning website and leave your feedback, which may need to be e-mailed by Weds, 7th January 2015 (I hve a letter from them stating 19th Jan but the website says 7th).
Although it would regenerate a generally run down area, it will be impactful to the Earlsfield area in terms of the expected 3,000-6,000 football supporters using Earlsfield station on match days and cause traffic and parking congestion - for the 600 flats the plan is to build 300 parking spaces, and there is no parking for football supporters in the plans.
