Hello everyone

DH and I are moving to Haslemere in the new year. Very excited! We'd really like to get to know people locally (we're in our 30s) and to build up a network, one of the reasons we're moving from where we are now.

Does anyone have any suggestions about lovely local places to meet people? The answer is usually join a running club but neither of us is quite up to that yet (give me some time to recover from the mincepie excess and I might try it ...)! :)

Thank you!

There is a good running club here, not that I am a member. Do you have children? Baby groups, toddler classes and the school gate are all good places. I have met some lovely friends through volunteering with guides/brownies. I think if you put yourself out there and organise something like a book group or a coffee morning you get results faster. I was you a few years ago and I love it here.
Good luck, message me if you think you might like to meet for a coffee or glass of wine.

Hello ladies,

Sorry to gate crash, but I am also fairly new to Haslemere and looking to meet new people. I have been to numerous toddler groups and I have met lovely mums but would love to meet new people to go out locally for a glass of wine and a chat.

If you are up for it, please let me know x

Thanks ladies. Lovely to hear from you. I really like the idea of starting a book group, I am going to look into that. Watch this space!

Things like Brownies, todder groups etc are going to have to wait a bit as we don't have children - yet! But in time I'm definitely hoping to get involved in lots of that sort of thing.

We're happily installed in Haslemere now and just about emerging from organised chaos. :) I think I'm going to love it hert yoo.

A glass of wine and a natter sounds super, thank you!

Hello, we moved to Haslemere yesterday!

Can I join the gang please? Dh is going back to work on Tues and I'm a bit scared of not knowing a soul.

Wine sounds just the ticket!

SpottyTeacakes · 24/01/2015 14:53

Can I join your gang?! Not quite Haslemere but it's our nearest town Smile

Dd is 4 and has just started school, Ds is 2.

Btw haslemere has the best independent shoe shop.

Hey everyone,

I've just stumbled on this conversation and would love to get to know some more Mums in the area. We moved to Haslemere in April of last year with our 3 1/2 yo and 1 yo and have met some lovely Mums. I guess the best thing is to pm you all? Never used mumsnet before... :)
