Knowing what it’s like to be a parent means you could make a difference to family’s lives
Can you spare 2-3 hours each week to offer support in a family’s home on a weekly basis?
Home-Start volunteers befriend and offer emotional and practical help to enable families to move forward
The next preparation courses for new volunteers start January 2015, covering West and Mid Suffolk. Training will be in Stowmarket at Hillside Community Centre on Tuesdays during school hours (no session in school half term) To find out more and to receive an information pack please contact:

I would love to do this and have enquired previously but I have no personal transport and could not get to the Training Sessions (I am in Sudbury) so alas could not do

Hi penelopejane - sorry to hear that you couldn't join us at the Stowmarket training. Our next course in April is going to be based in Great Barton - so same problems for you, but if you want to help Home-Start have you considered contacting Home-Start South Suffolk? They're based in Hadleigh so much closer for you, there phone number is 01473 822822.

Thank you for that. Indeed, I HAVE contacted Home-Start South Suffolk previously but again, no luck with transport could be arranged as the meetings were in the evenings I believe.
