How to create a Mumsnet Local username

If you have joined Mumsnet, and don't have a Local username, when you try to post on a Local thread you should see a message appear (see screengrab)

Within the message it says:

"Before continuing please set a local username"

To add content to a Local site, you must have a Local nickname. This can either be the same as your current nickname, or a completely new one. You only need to set this once. It won't be changed after that.
You will not be able to name change on Local, so if you want to keep your anonymity on the main site, avoid giving away any nickname clues!

If you choose the second option a box pops up for you to set a local nickname straight away.

If you are unsure whether you have a Local username, log in and click on 'My Account' (the purple button on the right of the homepage). You should then be able to see your username.

If you wish to change your existing local username, it must be done through MNHQ.

If you have any queries, please email us at [email protected]

Hope this is helpful Grin
