Hi, we're a family of 6 with 4 young children, looking to relocate to Harvington, nr Evesham. don't know this area at all - any tips? Advice? anyone know anything about this area? Can anyone recommend great villages to live in around here? Husband's job will be Longbridge, south of Birmingham but we are up for a 30 min commute so of job and are looking for quaint, villages with good schools.....Harvington seems nice, but not sure. All opinions welcome! Thanks!

Hi, I live in Kidderminster having moved here from Berkshire about 10 yrs ago, but my youngest is now 18yrs. Harvington is a lovely location, and there are many very pleasant villages around however I would suggest taking rides out to view potential areas. The schools vary widely (state and private) so also worth taking a good look at these before you choose where to settle. I would suggest that you also look at public transport links for your children to use as they grow up (great for their independence). Worcestershire is great as we have rural areas and great shopping, restaurants etc, and good transport links to Birmingham and London! You may also want to check out sites with local forums (Netmums and Streetlife) Good luck with your move. Happy to chat again!

Hi, have you found somewhere yet? I hope all goes well for you. We are more east of Evesham than south. The secondary school at Chipping Campden (just over the border into Gloucestershire) is excellent and I think there are school buses from parts of Worcestershire. I agree with the post above that a bit of research regarding schools and transport links would be a really good idea. We now live in a beautiful area, but in many ways the location is not very practical. I have moved lots myself and would be very happy to get together if you wanted once you are here. I have two boys 9 & 11.

Hi We relocated from South Birmingham to Worcestershire and chose Bromsgrove for the schools as there are many excellent schools there to choose from. Bromsgrove is more of a town than a village, but very commutable to Longbridge. I personally think Harvington to Longbridge is longer than 30 minutes, so that might be a factor to consider. Good Luck with it all

If you have young children you might like to join your local NCT branch (www.nct.org.uk) and meet other local parents (mostly mums). When I moved to the area they were my life saver and I'm still best friends with some of the women I met back then - all the best to you all
