Hehe there are no particularly bad parts of baildon just huge variations in housing costs. I'm up for a meet up but may have to name change after due to the absolute drivel I sometimes put in chat!

surpriseitsme · 05/02/2015 23:40

If trains are easier along the aire valley then Roberts park in Saltaire is good for a morning out. 2 minutes walk from train station theres a Cafe Lovely walks and an amazing playground that's very quiet throughout school hours

funchum8am · 06/02/2015 19:33

Saltaire is lovely -will get on the case!

AmandaE13 · 06/02/2015 19:54

funchum... I don't suppose the name Morgan would mean anything to you?

surpriseitsme · 08/02/2015 23:05

AmandaE13 · 09/02/2015 20:04

I realised being that open about my family's cosy living arrangements might out me but since I'm hoping to meet some of you in real life I figured it wouldn't matter! My other posts on other boards are nothing I wouldn't share irl (now trying to think back and hoping this is true....I've been on here years!)

We are now moving Thursday instead of Friday and most things are ready so will go and post the Meetup on the official board. How does next week suit people? It's half term, is that a problem for any of you with school age DC?

funchum8am · 10/02/2015 08:32

PS surprise my DH got a job at Baildon Primary yesterday - starts after half term!

surpriseitsme · 13/02/2015 00:45

Well done on the job to your dH! I post some right rubbish but I'm a prolific name changer so would probably take some outing not that I Mind either way lol. Can't make next week unfortunately we go away for school holidays it's the only way I can make dh take time off!

surpriseitsme · 13/02/2015 00:46

Which primary school will he be working at? The C of E ?

funchum8am · 13/02/2015 16:58

Yes the C of E. Looks like a really nice school (fingers crossed anyway).

How about weds 25th or Thurs 26th for the meet up, everyone?

We have now moved by the way but the house is chaos so we are staying with family til it is liveable. Amanda I will try to pop by soon!

AmandaE13 · 16/02/2015 14:57

Congratulations to your hubby on the new job! How did the move go?

Had a snotty baby all weekend and my parents have been visiting so nothing has got done!

The Wednesday could be good with us but thurs could be a possibility depending if they carry on our baby class after half term, what suits everyone best?

Hi everyone, I have now moved and met up with Amanda so am finally going to sort a Bingley meet up. If you would like to come but can't due to date/location please do post here and let me know so I can organise a future one that works better for you! Off to the official meet up board to set it up - will then post details here too.

funchum8am · 09/03/2015 14:50

The next Bingley meet up will be 2-5pm on Wednesday March 25th at Myrtle Perk café in Bingley. It's new and purports to be highly child/family friendly! Info available here bingleymums.com/2015/03/06/mytle-perk-cafe/

If that is not a good day/time/location for you just let me know what days and locations might be better, and I'll make sure the next one is at a more suitable time.

Might well branch out beyond Bingley to Saltaire/Shipley/Keighley/Bradford in future if that helps!

Sorry only just seen this! Not sure if I am free, I will investigate and come back to you.

Amanda I've not been to Little Daisies yet but have been recommended it by many people at the various play groups I go to. Apparently it's good for babies and younger toddlers who are too small for normal soft play places.

AmandaE13 · 19/03/2015 15:44

It would be great if you could make it Felix, I have heard they do very good cakes if that sways it for you ;)

I went to Little Daisys last week and it was good for my 8 month old and would go again however parking is a little bit of a nightmare with only an hour limited outside the venue so we had to park in the pay & display.

If anyone else is thinking of going, I would recommend you booking a table as most were pre-booked.

Hi Everyone :o)

I am a new mum to be (due Feb 27th 2016) I hit 13 weeks tomorrow and my first scan is on Wednesday next week - I can't wait, with the morning sickness and exhaustion of the first trimester it feels like I have been waiting an age for my scan!
I am looking to get to know about the best mums and baby groups etc in Saltaire/Shipley area? I love all of my girlfriends but none of them have babies or are pregnant so can't really relate to what I am going through which is quite difficult sometimes, my husband is super supportive but obviously he cant really understand what all this feels like! Any pointers on great groups or just some fun baby chat would be great!
Has any body given birth at Airedale? That is where I am going as I have had bad experiences at BRI and didn't want to go there again.
Hope all mums and bumps are ok :o)
x

Hanhan123 · 21/08/2015 09:02

Amanda E13 I have had someone recommend little daisies saying its great!

AmandaE13 · 21/08/2015 13:49

Hi Hanhan Smile Congratulations on your expectant arrival!!

I had motion sickness for my first trimester, I just had to constantly eat in the car to get anywhere without throwing up, I was so happy when that stopped, I had normally eaten my lunch before I had even got to work.

I had my LB at Airedale just over a year ago and I had a good experience when I was there (bar the hot weather but I don't think I can blame Airedale for that) I was midwife led so got to use one of their refurbished rooms which were lovely and in the ward if the single rooms are free you are automatically put in those now and don't have to pay. I would strongly suggest the Stalk walk that Airedale offer to get a good sense of what the place is like.

NTC do some really good classes to meet expectant mothers and also Airedale host some antenatal classes and if memory serves me right you can book once you've reached 28 weeks. Also I would suggest having a look at the local Children's Centre (Owlet) I met some lovely ladies on some of the baby groups there and also on here!

Thanks so much AmandaE13!

Yeah morning sickness is the worst, I never had motion sickness like you mentioned - that sounds really difficult. I mainly just struggled with my sense of smell and really bad nausea, so glad its easing off now!

I am definitely going to do the stalk walk, I really want a single room, it makes me nervous thinking about just being on a ward, but I am sure it will be fine! Will definitely look at getting booked in for ante natal classes too, and have a look at the Owlet centre, there's lots in Saltaire area apparently so I really need to check out who recommends what.
Thanks for the tips :o) x
