Requesting Feedback about 4 Street nursery Pinner

Hello mommies

I am considering sending my DS at 4 street nursery in Pinner starting April. I have had a look at the nursery and I wasn't very pleased by the infrastructure, however really enjoyed interacting with the manager who is indeed a nice lady. I have an option to send him to a child minder but prefer a nursery setting (he will be 18 months old in April). I know that the nursery has an outstanding ofstead rating but its a 2008 report. Things might change in 6 years??;-)

If any of you know have experience in sending your children to this nursery and can elaborate about your experience there I would be very grateful.

Hi, I would agree the baby /toddler room seems an inadequate size for the number of children and adults that are needed in order to care for them. The room is apparently 'fit for purpose'.
The children do get home cooked food and stimulating activities. Once the child moves into the down stairs facilities they have more space and freedom to move in.

Apologies that there hasn't been a sooner response. It is a fact that our building is not purpose built and has a variety of sizes of rooms with the downstairs being larger than the upstairs. We do continuously review and evaluate the service and care offered to our families. I feel how reflective we are is one of the main strengths of our setting. We feel it a strength in our care to the youngest children, that they are based in 3 smaller rooms (Ladybird Rooms). This means through the main parts of the day they are in groups of up to maybe 5 children. For those youngest children coming into nursery, this gives a sense of security rather than being in one large room where active children will naturally increase noise levels. We do have many parents who make the same observation as yourself, however once in the nursery do value the feeling of security the experienced staff and smaller groupings give their child. Just recently a parent who had moved her child from another nursery to the Ladybird room has commented "I don't know how you do it. You have got something special here. It's like she has been coming here for years although its only been a few weeks"
I am really sorry that as parents you did not feel able to express your concerns directly to us at the nursery as I'm sure we would have been able to reassure, and most definitely put you in touch with parents currently using the nursery who would have been able to directly discuss your concerns and i know reassure you. I am hearing more often now at show around visits that parents despite our older building, are seeing beyond this and relishing in the quality of care, the hardworking and amazing team and our unwavering commitment to the children.
