Benthal Primary School in Hackney - any feedback please?

We're approaching the primary school application stage for my daughter who will start reception in Sep 2015.

Does anyone have any feedback about Benthal primary school please? I know it's gone through quite a few changes (and a new headteacher) recently.

My Dd has been at Benthal for just over two months and so far I have nothing but good things to say. The school is great at communicating with parents-lots of newsletters plus they text with important dates. There is more homework than I was expecting - reading, writing plus more crafty type activities - but this seems pretty standard round here. I don't know how the change in head has affected the school - maybe someone on here can offer more insight.
