Hi. I am organising a Christmas shoebox appeal for the animals at The Raystede Centre for Animals Welfare. The Raystede Centre has been caring for animals for 60 years at its site near Lewes. Each year the Centre rescues, rehomes or provides sanctuary for over 1500 animals, among them dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, donkeys, horses, chicken, hedgehogs and even tortoise. Last year the appeal was a great success but I am hoping to collect even more boxes this year. I am running the Burgess Hill based appeal and asking people to kindly fill a shoebox (or similar) with food, toys and treats for the animals to enjoy. I will then take all of the donations to the Centre for the animals to enjoy over the festive period. If you would like to donate a box and would like more details about the Centre’s wish list and the drop off point for your filled boxes, please contact x
