Living in Merrow, Surrey : what is it really like?

We are considering a move to Merrow in Surrey and are almost committed but wanted to get a feel for what it is actually like living there.

Do you live in / know someone in Merrow?

From what we've picked up it is potentially very quiet which is an attraction and couldn't quite see / pick up a feel for the community / where the focal points are for the village?

Merrow is popular because of the schools (esp George Abbot catchment), the (slightly) cheaper prices than central Guildford but the fact it is still very new the town centre. I think community spirit varies, more likely to feel it if your DC go to the local primaries in Merrow.
