Can anyone recommend a nursery in the city centre or on the city centre side of west bridgford? Ive looked at Hickory House, which seemed to have good facilities and Angels by Day. Does anyone gave any experience of those 2 or any others? Thanks :)

Hi Carlota81,

I looked at quite a few at that end of WB about a year ago, then didn't need to use one, so just have an impression from those visits and chatting to friends. My sense was that standards in WB are high across the board, so it's more about location, feeling and personal preference.

The little differences I noticed were amount of space in each room, outdoors, age-group boundaries, type of food (Children's Corner and The Playroom are vegetarian + fish) and organisational style - just the feel of the place.

Hickory House was amazingly spacious. I liked Children's Corner, across the road - nice garden, felt relaxed, a friend's child is very happy there. Also liked the White House, Secret Garden, The Playroom and Scott's Wood on Radcliffe Road.

Hi Carlota81

Scotts wood on Radcliffe road (now called Radcliffe road day nursery) is fantastic my LO goes there and the staff and facilities are great. The food is amazing, we always ask if they do doggie bags to bring home, my LO favourite is the chorizo pasta. I looked round them all (Yes - I know PFB!) and just liked the feel of it. Have recommend it to lots of people.

Scott's Wood on Selby Rd was great for our kids. Can heartily recommend due to the excellent staff.
