Avenue primary versus barrow hedges

Hi, we're looking to move to either cheam or carshalton beeches. Any thoughts on either of these schools( BH and Avenue) would be much appreciated. Specially barrow hedges as their scores seem excellent but ofsted rating quite low. It seems like a good school to us but would like to know people's experiences with these schools and just the local reputation. Avenue on the other hand has ofsted 1 but we find the recent expansion a bit daunting.

Thanks!

I don't have any knowledge of Barrow Hedges Im afraid but The Avenue seems to be rated really highly. I had a walk round this year and found the school bursting at the seams although it seemed to be organised chaos. My friends children go there and are getting on great. There are nicer schools (in my opinion) around the area such as Cuddington croft (although full of very snobby/pushy mums), Cheam Fields, Cheam Park Farm and St Dunstans (Church school). These schools are smaller and just have a friendlier feel. The Avenue is huge and for some reason the amount of kids that go there just turned me off although like I say, they do get really good results. The catchment area round here is a NIGHTMARE though so when you do move make sure its VERY close to the school of your choice especially the schools I have mentioned. The schools I have mentioned are the ones that my children and my friends children attend so I can vouch for all of them.
