Hi,

Our DD is Reception age and we are looking at moving her from a State primary to Stover School in Newton Abbot. Are there any Mums on here who have children of Prep school age who can provide us with an insight as to how their child is getting on? Not interested in heresay or opinions from people who do not know the school very well / or don't have children at the school. I've seen some nasty threads about Stover that seem spiteful and petty - I am choosing to ignore those, and would just like some honest opinions. We have been to look at the school and were impressed with the facilities and the children who showed us round - would just like some added info!

Many thanks!

I do not have a child in Stover Prep so cannot answer your question as such. However, I know Stover School very well. There is nothing wrong with the school. Its a decent , good school with excellent teachers and well behaved , well mannered and bright children. The school in fact is a gem in the local area.

I understand the prep is excellent.

The school has recently been given an ISI inspection where teaching and pastoral care both came out excellent (amongst many other things).

They will have a new Head Teacher after half term ( in charge of both senior and prep schools, although Mrs Coyle will continue to be in charge of the prep. I expect there will be changes as there always are. I know his arrival is being anticipated with a great deal of optomism.

Hopefully the new Head will ensure that those who spit hate and spite at the school will be dealt with and the schools reputation will begin to match its actuality.

If you want to send your DD to Stover, I would say you will have made a good choice.
