YMCA Tottenham Lane must go!

The YMCA in Tottenham Lane is becoming really dangerous and filled with very dodgy individuals. I was passing by the other day with my 2 years old, and a man just came out and through a used condom on the street...it was awful! I have also observed very strange exchanges from people coming to buy some sort of things...Does anyone knows if there are any plans to at least close the housing service? Does anyone know if it would be possible to sign a petition to move it to another location? It is a shame that in such a beautiful village we have to endure these kind of very nasty people living there....

I have rarely read anything so utterly heartless and inhumane! We can't live in a bubble populated by people only like ourselves. The YMCA run an essential service in Crouch End and local people should support them in that. Move it to another location to protect "your beautiful village", would not get my vote and I live in the "village" too.

I am sorry if my message offended you. I do not pretend to 'live in a bubble' but I do very much wish to live in a safe neighbourhood. I understand the YMCA is trying to provide a noble service, and perhaps if relocation is not an option, then they should have more control over who stays there. It is indeed becoming a very dangerous block with very nasty people staying there. I don't consider myself inhumane, but rather a compassionate person, but I do have kids and would like to feel the place I live in is safe for them, and between the YMCA and the council estate building now in front of it, that area has become increasingly dangerous not only for kids, but for adults also.
