I'm currently working in town near the grafton and need to buy some spices in my lunchbreak.

Where isnt to far from here, not Little Waitrose, that will be expensive.

Thanks

Mill road - although not sure what is open on a sunday - some shops should be -market might have stalls as well.

Mill road is about the closest I can think of. Unless the polish shop on chesterton road is likely to have what you need (and is open on Sunday).

Polish shop on C Road closed down!

SiliconJen · 05/10/2014 17:51

Oops - haven't been past for a while!

Well i went on a hunt with no luck.
The market just has arts and crafts on a sunday, So I've ordered some with my ocado food shop.
All the packs were 99p on there because the're not in containers with lids just resealable packs so I'm happy.

Arriving too late really but for future reference, Al-Amin on Mill Road, town side of the bridge, has a whole room of spices and is open on Sundays!

SiliconJen · 05/10/2014 19:43

Ooh Al-Amin also does great homemade currys.

ihatethecold · 05/10/2014 19:57

Thanks. Might go there anyway.
I need an excuse to go down mill road. Do you know where abouts on mill road Al Amin is?

If you are walking away from town, it is on your right just after Lloyds bank and before the butchers at the foot of the bridge. The onion bhagees are amazing!

There is a Polish shop on Newmarket Rd behind the Grafton Centre, i've not been in but it might be worth a look

ihatethecold · 05/10/2014 21:21

Thanks new. That's just round the corner from me. I have been in there a while ago.
I have ordered my spices now.

Also for future reference, Arjuna (bottom end of Mill Road) has loads of herbs and spices -- you weigh out the amount you want, and they're very cheap.

ihatethecold · 06/10/2014 09:29

Thank you.

Or SpiceGate on Mill Road (near town end) - the name gives it away, rather.
