Where to go for dinner in Kingston?

We have a rare night out coming up and are going to the Rose Theatre. Could anyone suggest somewhere great for dinner afterwards? Preferably not a chain. Can be fancy or relaxed, but with great food, good service and atmosphere. We don't know Kingston very well so any suggestions gratefully received! Thanks
