Dear parents, my name is Laura Martinez.
I am a qualified psychologist and I am currently training to become a child and young people psychotherapist at the Tavistock and Portman NHS foundation trust (in partnership with the University of East London).
As part of my studies, I am required to undertake an observation of an infant or young child and his or her interactions with his or her caretakers.
I am looking for a family in Sheffield that who has a baby or an infant under five years of age, and who would take part. The observation Simply consists in visits for an hour, once a week, for 20 weeks. I would be there just to observe the infant. The visit can take place either at your home or at the child's nursery. The idea is to start the observations in November 2014.
The purpose of this observation is to think about early child development by observing this, over the time, in an ordinary child. It will also help me to develop my observational skills. I will be receiving weekly supervision for my work. All details of the observation will be kept strictly confidential.
I am registered with the Health Care Professions Council and have an up-to-date DBS (formerly Criminal Records Bureau check).
