Area around Grosvenor Park advice please

Hello, I'd love some advice please. We are looking at moving from London and have seen houses for sale around Grosvenor Park/ Upper Grosvenor Road for sale. What is this bit of TW like? Is it a high crime area? (I've looked at the police crime map and read articles) and it looks like some anti social behaviour but can anyone give me an idea of hjow it actually feels to live around there? Also, any info on the Wells Free school as think that would be nearest? Thank you VERY much in advance :)

Upper Grosvenor Road is very mixed in terms of its housing stock and it's a thoroughfare from town, so can be busy at the weekends. There are lots of flats at the 'town' end, but there are some fabulous family houses too. It can be a busy road because it's obviously a fairly key route through town, but in terms of the station, parks, town, it's a good location.

Depending on which end you are looking at, The Wells Free School could be an option - if you are at the RVP end, it's possible you would get in but as the houses on the hospital site are built the catchment will shrink. I was heavily involved in its founding so am biased and think it's a lovely school - and it will obviously be easier once it's in its permanent home from September 15.

You could also be in catchment for St Barnabas which is improving massively and at the station end, you would be close to St John's School and could be in catchment for what is a very good school. Compared to London, TW has very low crime and antisocial behaviour really - inevitably there are pockets of poor behaviour, but in general TW is lovely, safe and a great place to relocate to.

I do wonder if the new Wells free School will be in catchment for a house on 'Grosvenor Park' when all the new houses are built....I can't seem to find how many houses/flats will be there when they are finished? Is it expected that those new houses will fill the school allocation? Otherwise I guess it would be St Barnabus, I read the last Ofsted which seemed okay, although low attendance and lower than average results is something to think about but it may have improved since then. Thank you for your help :)

Grosvenor Park should be ok, depending on when you are going to be needing the school place. I think there are 200ish houses going onto the site, but they are phased so won't be fully complete until 2017/18 I think.
