I've just heard that the Council have agreed to host the Formula E (electric) Grand Prix in Battersea Park. Although the cars are electric they still hurtle along at up to 150 mph and presumably need a similar level of logistical support to a normal grand prix (pit crews, huge trucks to transport them, grandstands etc...). They also have the same sort of huge crashes that normal F1 has.
The track will actually be inside the park.
Anyone else think this is crazy? It's not a big enough area and just imagine what the park will look like afterwards. Think Clapham Common after one of its big music festival x 10.
Battersea Park is so beautiful, I can't believe the Council would allow it.
