Hello, I posted on here a little while ago about the fact that I was moving to Edinburgh and am surprised at how quiet it is on these boards. On my previous MN local site there was a general chat thread for getting to know people from the area I just wondered if anyone would be interested in doing the same here. Seems a shame that the local boards are so quiet and I'm sure there must be some Edinburghers(what's are people from Edinburgh called?) lurking like I am round here. So anyway, would be lovely to talk to anyone, if not I will just go back to trying to make sense of my toddlers blethers. :-)

Hi Hamnvik, I agree with with - it is pretty quiet here. I also tried to start some topics onother sites and there were no responses.. Have you moved to Edinburgh yet? If so, what part of Edinburgh are you staying in? Give me a shout if you fancy a caht. :)

Hi, a lot of us have been pretty focused on all the referendum threads of late! The local boards do tend to be fairly quiet though.

Hamnvik · 23/09/2014 11:05

Hi yes I have moved now, we stay near Cameron Toll, where do you live Agata?
I guess the referendum has kept most Scots pretty busy McFox!

Hi there,
We stay near Meadowbank area. Do you like Cameron Toll? How do you find Edinburgh? I have been living here for over 10 years and I still love it :) Cameron Toll is a really nice area! What age are your kids/is your kid?

Hello, I'm going to be moving up early next year, and pretty much all of our old friends (from almost a decade ago) have left the city so I would love to get to know some local folk :)

McFox · 25/09/2014 16:33

It has OP but things are slowly returning to normal now so I'd be happy to do a meet up Smile

GrooveeCar · 25/09/2014 17:09

It's been very quiet lately.

Hamnvik · 25/09/2014 17:47

Aha I knew there must be Edinburgh Mumsnetters out there!

We lived in Edinburgh before for 5 years but I am still terrible with names of areas, where we are now is nice enough, DH is a student though and it would be good to live a bit nearer uni (Morningside ish) but sadly it's too expensive for us!
I have an 18 month old DS, would be great to meet up with people with/without kids!

Oh and where are you moving from LilyDa?

LilyDa · 25/09/2014 17:55

We're moving from Yorkshire. DH is just negotiating his start date at the moment - somewhere between 4&6 months I think...

Hamnvik · 28/09/2014 12:24

Oh exciting, did you used to live here before?
What has everyone got planned for the week? DS and I are full of the cold and feeling grotty urgh, hopefully it won't last long and DS will sleep for more than an hour at a time!
